02/01/21 - Day Four - Yes, Luke is a human being.

 By the way, since my morning was upside down from jump (Had to drop Evie off at  the airport early), I only have one comment about G-Girls.


Lorelai: Luke had a GIRLFRIEND?
Evie: Wow. She said that like "Luke is a human being that DATES?" He is SO deep in the friend zone.
Me: Hardcore. Lorelai really don't see him.
Evie: He's like an old coat to her.

Note: Evie has watched two episodes in passing and she picked this up.

  Okay, so Chriselai… They tell Rory and it goes exactly like we expected. Lorelai Jr.: “We’re married!” Rory: “TF?” Meanwhile, in Logalai-land, Logan makes a surprise visit and lets Rory know he’s moving an hour away...and he doesn’t offer to move her there because why? Yale. See, she’ll be out in six months.  Anyway, he takes her to a company party and gets the chance to write an article about the party for an important guy. She writes the article and Logan clearly gets a bug up his ass about it because he pulls the whole, “HOW DARE YOU LOOK DOWN ON THE ELITE!” I mean...he’s not entirely wrong? She is one of them, but whatever.  Meanwhile, with Chriselai, Chris is moving right in. “Let’s get a flat screen! Let’s turn Rory’s room into Gigi’s room!” And Lorelai Jr. is all, “Hold up! 05/14/21 Have a Nice Trip, See You Next Fall

  So, it’s fall and Lorelai’s “doing Wild” and it’s just as stupid as you think it is.   Yeah...you know, "Wild"? Like the 2014 movie with Reese Witherspoon? It's a trend or something in Purgatory. Please don't ask me to explain it. Anyway, Rory starts seeing weird stuff around town and it turns out that the Life and Death Brigade are back!  Logan and his buds come through and they have a pretty awesome night that even this old curmudgeon thought was pretty cool. I mean, really.  I was very entertained. Side note: Luke now thinks Lorelai left to find herself and she could leave him because that makes sense. Hello, insecurity! Anyway, after the night of debauchery, Rory decides that the fun is over. It was very Wendy and Lost Boys. It was adorable. So, Rory signs off with Logan. Finally. It’s a good breakup. 04/20/21 Day Thirty-Four - Whoa, we're halfway there

You know, I woke up this morning realizing I’d forgotten all about this show. Then I watched it and went, oh, yeah...things are stupid now. So, Chriselai is a thing now and they go to Yale’s weekend parent thing and I’m already sick of hearing the phrase “Rory Gilmore's Parents”.  But Emily and Richard show up, which I’m thinking to myself, Wow, how are you surprised, Lorelai Sr? Of course, she’s there. Remember? They’re involved with her school life. I mean, really. The nerve. And because Lorelai is perpetually fifteen, a good chunk of the whole weekend becomes about how mad she is that her parents have the actual nerve to be involved in Rory’s life...while Christopher is clearly having some kind of midlife crisis. He’s like “LET’S INVITE ALL OF RORY’S FRIENDS ON A SKI TRIP!” and gets them drunk.  (And wait, is that Abed from the Community?)
