04/28/21 Day Thirty-Nine - Breakups and Setups


So, we’re at the aftermath of the end of Chriselai, Emily is still planning a party and Richard has a sassy black nurse who don’t take no stuff from Emily. (hard sigh)


Purgatory demons Liz and TJ have moved into Luke’s apartment because moths...I guess? And they’re messing with him about calling Lorelai now that she’s split up with Christopher and keeping him awake and breaking his garbage disposal, you know, because they’re Purgatory demons.



Hey, writers! BTW, you said that Chriselai didn’t work because she jumped too fast from relationship to relationship...right? That’s what you decided to go with, right? Does this path make sense? No. I’m afraid it doesn’t. You should have gone with logic instead of forcing a plot, but here we are. I’ll bet Logalai will be back in about 2-3 episodes.

And speaking of Logalai…




Side note: When discussing his friend starting a restaurant, Mitch Hutzenberger used the metaphor of catching a firefly the same way you say catching lightning in a bottle which is a really long way of saying that he’s never actually tried to catch a firefly. (Hint. They’re REALLY easy to catch. They practically land in your hand.)


So, anyway, Logalai go to dinner with Mitch and Mitch gets all weird with her thanking her for talking her into convincing Logan to go to London and telling her she’s now a part of Team Huntzenberger and talks to her about her part in Mission “Brainwash Logan”. THAT can’t go bad.



She had the presence of mine to tell Logan afterward and Logan’s like, “That’s my dad!” (Laugh track)

Oh, this show.

Recap... Rory’s writing a novel for a crazy British lady, she’s also still not-dating Logan (Oh, look, there’s Logan’s dad) and Lorelai is in therapy with her mom. And they’re holding a town meeting to plan for a Pride parade and I’m happy to report that there are very few gays in Purgatory. (I always knew it) Anyway, they can’t do it, because despite what certain people have been led to believe, there is a startlingly low number of homosexuals living in Stars Hollow. Also, Taylor commits a HIPAA violation and steals Lorelai’s guest list and finds there are B-movie actors in town and WE CAN’T HAVE THAT! Michel has a straight-up meltdown because of the B-listers. Lorelai talks to Luke about it, but Luke’s basically like F* that guy. Side note: Paul Anka’s still alive?? I'm not repeating myself, I mean the guy, not the dog. And also, the movie they watch on movie night...Eraserhead?? This really is Purgatory. But Kirk’s short film. Hysterical. Best thing I’ve seen so far. Anyway, Lor

03/11/21 Day Eleven - Tailgating at Yale

So today was the Yale game episode and 1) Richard's a fun drunk, I can dig it. 2) Lorelai Sr. really is an awful person BUT I like Digger and the way that whole date thing shook out.  I couldn't help thinking though "So the writers DO know how to write romantic wooing and playful banter and not make it weird and stalkery. Good for them!" 3) Oh, yeah, and Paris and the writer teacher guy making out. Heh. That was a nice twist.

01/25/21 - Day Damn One, Vivian. Day Damn One.

Jane the Virgin is complete. I laughed and bawled during the last episode. Intensely fabulous show.  This morning I started Gilmore Girls and I have thoughts:  1. Has Jared Padalecki ALWAYS had that voice? Like was he born sounding 40? It's weird and disorienting.  2. This show is very white privilege-y...but I don't hate it so far.  3. Not sure I like the Lorelais and their relationship, but it's starting to grow on me.   4. What is with all the coffee? I'm getting hyper-watching this thing.  Overall, I'm not hooked, but I'm willing to watch episode three, so that's progress. And I like the grandmother. I don't know why. I know I shouldn't, but I do. It's weird.
